Your bathroom can be home to unsightly dirt and grime that can potentially be dangerous to your health. Deep cleaning the bathroom doesn’t have to be expensive and difficult! Give it the TLC it deserves with these simple deep cleaning tips:

  1. Clean your grout

Cleaning grout is easier than you think! All you need is a bit of baking soda, bleach, an old toothbrush and tons of elbow grease and you’ll have them looking new in no time.

  1. Clean shower head with vinegar

Don’t neglect your showerhead when deep cleaning. Get a big plastic bag and fill it with vinegar. Submerge the showerhead in the bag, tie it shut and let it sit overnight. The next morning, just run water on it and it is good as new.

  1. Clean your tiles and countertop

This tip is not labour intensive. All you have to do is spray your tiles with your favourite brand of all-purpose cleaner, crank up the water heater and let the steam do all the cleaning for you. Leave the room for about 20-minutes and wipe any signs of excess cleaner and you are all set.

  1. Clean your toilet

Nothing says gross faster than a stained toilet. Pour a bit of baking soda on the bowl and let it sit for a couple of minutes. With an old toothbrush, scrub away and watch your toilet regain its bone-white colour in no time.

If you still see stains, get a hold of a moist pumice stone and scrub the mineral deposits away.

  1. Clean your sink drain

For this step, all you need is a bit of vinegar and hot water. Pour in the vinegar and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Flush it out with hot water after and you are all set.

  1. Remove hard water build up

If your fixtures are ridden with hard water build up and you’re thinking of replacing them, give this tip a try first. With a bit of vinegar, lemon juice and dishwashing soap, pour it over the fixture and let it soak up the solution.

The acidity in the vinegar and lemon juice should be enough to break up the build up. After letting it sit for a couple of minutes try to scrub the grime away.

  1. Spring clean the sink cabinet

This might be the most overlooked part of your bathroom. Time to grab some garbage bags and dispose all the clutter that has been sitting under the sink. Go the extra mile and add in hooks for added storage. Simplify your life!
