- The letter “J” represents the month the unit was manufactured. In the English alphabet, J is the 10th letter, that means the unit was created in the 10th month of the calendar year which is October.
- The following two numbers, which is 1 and 2 will tell you what year this particular appliance was manufactured. In this example, it should be the year 2012.
A variety of manufacturers have various ways of numbering their units, so if you are not sure how old your water heater is, get in touch with the manufacturer to find out its age. Apparently, it should be replaced if it is aged more than 10 years already.
Rust
Rust has never been a good contribution to any part of your home’s plumbing system, and most of all in your water.
