Your local plumber in Orono
Need a plumber Orono homeowners can trust? Hayes Plumbing & Bathroom Renovations serves Orono and the surrounding East Clarington hamlets, such as Kirby, Kendal and Leskard, from our Oshawa shop, where the company was founded in 1961. The village gets its water from Region of Durham municipal wells, while homes in the surrounding hamlets are generally on private wells and septic systems, and our registered plumbing technicians work on both. Quotes are free, and a live operator answers (905) 576-3043 24/7 for emergencies.
Residential plumbing services in Orono
Orono's municipal water comes from Region of Durham wells within the village and has a hardness of 309 mg/L, about two and a half times the 125 mg/L of the Lake Ontario system that serves Oshawa. Hard water leaves scale on fixtures, pipes and appliances, so a softener is worth considering. Rural properties around Kirby, Kendal and Leskard are generally on private wells and septic systems, where naturally occurring iron can stain fixtures and sulphur bacteria can cause a rotten egg smell. We install water filtration and softeners, handle leak detection in older village homes, bathroom renovations, drain cleaning, winterization and emergency plumbing for rural properties. The Region offers free bacteriological testing for private wells, with a drop-off at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex in Bowmanville.
